We live in a crazy time. A small virus seems to control the world. We thought we had everything so well done: we thought we had everything (or almost everything) under control. And then this virus...

It's been 9 months since the pandemic started. Ever since then, scientists and pseudoscientists have been rolling over each other. They have one thing in common: They still have no idea how this virus works and how it should be combated. One thinks he knows even better than the other, at the same time we have completely lost control.

Uncertainty, illness, death. That dominates the lives of many right now.

Especially this uncertainty, how do I escape this? Can we escape this? I am not a prophet, but the end of this is still not in sight. It could be that this crazy time is getting even crazier. How do we deal with this? How can we survive?

To me as a Christian, this sounds almost like a rhetorical question. In the madness of this world, there remains only one certainty for me (and I hope also for you): the presence of God in our lives. The Rock of our existence. That unchanging and loving God who will never abandon us.

At the same time, we shouldn't act as if everything is normal and under control. The pandemic is here, despite all the conspiracy theories. That is why it is important to stand sober in this whole and to follow the advice of the government as closely as possible. I do, while above all I draw my hope and trust in God. He is the Rock on which my life is founded! If it wasn't for him, I'd lose it.

Immanuel, God is with us! He is the Rock of my (and I hope also your) salvation!
